Common Cents

A simple act of American patriotism can heal the wounds of a hard fought election battle by bringing Democrats, Republicans and Independents to work across the aisles in a common noble cause to BACK-OUR-VETS.

We are asking our national, state and local elected representatives to end the political warfare and work together in a non-partisan way by asking America’s retailers, along with 300 million citizens to voluntarily raise one billion dollars a year to support our nation’s 50 million veterans and their families. Our plan is free enterprise in action that can reduce the nation’s debt by using the POWER-OF-THE PEOPLE to voluntarily add just two cents to their total purchase when they shop, eat, bank or attend the house of worship of their choice. If you are dirt poor, or filthy rich, two cents is a small price to pay your respect daily for those who have fought for our freedoms and the liberties we all enjoy.

Let’s welcome home our returning men and women heroes from Afghanistan that none will be homeless, without a job, or be left to suffer with mental or physical problems.  During the difficult transition into civilian life we must provide education and training for new career opportunities, and provide for counseling to assist in preventing drug and alcohol use, and eliminate abuse of families which create divorces, and we must end the rising rate of suicides. It’s shameful to take away the benefits from the spouses and children of those fallen heroes. As Americans of every religious and political persuasion, or whatever your skin color or sexual orientation, we must be bigger than engaging in shameful behavior by turning our backs to the veterans and their families.  We owe them our heart-felt thanks and appreciation for their military service in a tangible and measurable way so that all America benefits. Please enlist in making these heroes the back-bone of this country’s  future “Grandest Generation.”

Please don’t mistake this plea as a big conglomerate or a well endowed charity asking for grants or giant donations.  I am an innovative lone voice start-up crying out for everyone to do their duty and honor our country. Admittedly I am no one special, no wartime hero, just an ordinary middle-class U.S. Navy, World War ll hospital corpsman veteran, who like each of you has red, white and blue running through our patriotic veins.  I am not asking our government, or seeking legislation, but I am urging  every American, young and old, to do your fair share to BACK-OUR-VETS which is the ARSENAL OF HOPE for our vets and their families.  You have our sworn guarantee that we will take no money, or fees out of the consumer donations.  100 percent of every consumer raised dollar goes to house, feed and care for veterans  through our collaborative non-profit partner – “Operation American Hero.”

BACK-OUR-VETS has the business plan to share with America’s retailers where it costs them practically nothing to participate in every town and city across this land, yet it’s their patriotic responsibility to give every customer the opportunity to contribute their two cents when they buy what the merchant is selling. It just makes good common sense for each and everyone to do their part daily. When you enlist in this noble cause you aren’t engaging in partisan gridlock, but you have joined the ground forces of participation in working together as a citizen’s army to BACK-OUR-VETS. May I please suggest you as a retailer, or an interested citizen, contact me personally to learn how you can do your part in honor of a new and willing  AmeriCAN BACK-OUR-VETS.
